Gar Drolma Choling (Nyingma Buddhism)



A search for "motor sim gate" on SL for timed motor tracks led me to this Buddhist temple. What caught my eye was the phrase "gates closed for retreats", so I decided to check it out.

I Wiki'd what Nyingma Buddhism meant and came up with the following:

"The Nyingma tradition is the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism (the other three being the Kagyu, Sakya and Gelug). "Nyingma" literally means "ancient," and is often referred to as the "school of the ancient translations" or the "old school" because it is founded on the first translations of Buddhist scriptures from Sanskrit into Tibetan, in the eighth century. The Tibetan script and grammar was actually created for this endeavour. In modern times the Nyingma lineage has been centered in Kham in eastern Tibet."

I've always loved the vibrant colors of Tibetan culture so I took my time and had a pleasant 15-30 minute visit. I left the place thinking... this would probably be the only time I would be anywhere near Tibet.

REZ

Wow! What a BIG difference a new graphic card makes!

I've been to REZ so many times in the past but have never seen the full effect of the place till now. I love it even more now that I'm seeing it with "new eyes".

To this day... I don't fully understand what this place is about but it completely draws me in...

I guess thats art.

Floating away in Pteron

Pteron has now become my favorite "thinking" place....turn the sound up once you rezz in to get the full effect of what this place has to offer! Don't pass up the chance to click on anything. It will most likely lead you to some secret places that will blow your mind.

RETRO MANIA!!!

I was waiting for Master Dope (while wearing his undies lol) and decided to look for skating parks. Found one that was worth exploring! Decoretropia is done in classic 50's style with a lot of interesting shops and wares. Some of the shop/places that was interesting to me was a Burlesque theater...mmmm cant wait to see a show! A drive in movie... which is currently showing a "how to" on vampire make up IRL...and a classy flapper dress store that had beautiful dresses but was a bit too expensive for a slave like me! lol! btw, I'm turning out to be a skatebug :P
